Anacreon is a browser-based persistent online multiplayer strategy game set in the human-colonized area of known space. The player assumes the role of the absolute ruler of a multi-world space empire and competes against other players to reunify the remnants of a galactic empire that collapsed over 4000 years previously.

Anacreon is beta software and is in ongoing development. Different beta versions are referred to as eras. The game is currently in what is known as Era 3.

Anacreon's design allows multiple games to run simultaneously. The most active game is currently Fallen Worlds Era 3.

Anacreon was created by George Moromisato, and is the spiritual successor to his 1988 game Anacreon: Reconstruction 4021. A Windows version of the original Anacreon, which is a local or network multiplayer game, was re-released for Windows in 2005. Unless otherwise noted, material on this wiki refers to the browser-based Anacreon.
