Level I

    • This is a lighter and weaker version of ceramic armor.
    • This is a lighter and less powerful version of reactive armor.

Level II

    • This armor consists of heat-resistant ceramic plate backed by a fiber-reinforced composite. Ceramic armor is ideal for absorbing laser and particle beam damage.
    • Though not strong enough to be used in warships, heavy titanium plate is more than twice as strong as normal titanium plate. It is often used to protect freighters and scout ships.
    • The Sung created this ceralloy-derived tiled armor for their Wind slavers. The tiles can be cannibalized to repair other Sung armor segments.

Level VIII

All level VIII armors are military.

    • Ithalium is a rare ore found on volcanic worlds. Alloys of ithalium are particularly resistant to thermonuclear damage.
    • The embedded field projectors in this armor enhance the power of Omsk deflectors by 50 hp.
    • Orthosteel is a well-balanced armor, effective against both particle and blast damage.
    • Hexphase armor is used extensively by capital ships of the Commonwealth Fleet. P450-grade armor can withstand 450 units of thermonuclear damage.
    • Manufactured by the secretive Taikon corporation, quadrocarbide armor resists ion and positron damage.

Level IX

All level IX and higher armors are EMP-immune. All level IX armors are military.

All level X armors are military.

    • The nanofacture towers of the Assembler Corporation can produce a pure diamond lattice in any configuration.
    • Like other ithalium-based armors, this heavy armor resists thermonuclear and plasma damage.
    • The capital ships of the Ares Orthodoxy use this massive armor.
    • The most advanced armor produced by the Taikon corporation, octocarbide can absorb almost 1500 units of ion damage before collapsing.

Level XI

All level XI and higher armors have device damage immunity.

    • The carbon aerogel armor of Iocrym ships is beyond human technology.
