Aes are a currency used by the [[anacreon:game:empires#Mesophon_Traders_Guild|Mesophon Traders Guild]]. Players' aes balance is displayed on the left side of the [[anacreon:client:navbar|navigation bar]] on the top of the screen. Aes are not subject to [[anacreon:game#attrition]].

Players obtain aes by [[anacreon:game:trade#trade_with_mesophon|trading with a Mesophon hub or capital]] orby  can [[anacreon:game:empires#sale_from_fleets|selling resources and fleets directly]]. Mesophon buys resources and units at an exchange rate of 0.05 aes / [[anacreon:lexicon#SCI_WU_cost|SCI WU cost]]. This exchange rate assumes "abundant" [[anacreon:game:deposits#labor_cost_table_for_raw_materials|deposits]] for all [[anacreon:game:resources#raw_materials|raw materials]] that are used to produce the resource.

Players can use aes to [[anacreon:game:trade#purchasing_from_mesophon|purchase ships from Mesophon]]. Mesophon sells ships at around 20% markup.
