====== Conquest ======
When a [[anacreon:game:planets|planet]] is successfully [[anacreon:game:combat#invasion|invaded]] by another [[anacreon:game:empire]], it is conquered by that empire and joins it. A conquered world takes a temporary hit to its [[anacreon:game#efficiency]]. If the conquered world is a [[anacreon:game:designation#sector_capital|sector capital]] or [[anacreon:game:designation#imperial_capital|imperial capital]], it changes [[[[anacreon:game:designation]] to [[anacreon:game:designation#autonomous]]. Otherwise, it will retain its original designation. Conquest breaks all [[anacreon:game:trade|trade routes]]. [[anacreon:game:Structures]] and [[anacreon:game:planets#stockpiles]] are not affected by conquest. If the planet is within 250 [[anacreon:lexicon#LY]] of one of the invader's active [[anacreon:game:designation#sector_capital|sector capitals]] or [[anacreon:game:designation#imperial_capital|imperial capital]], it can be issued [[anacreon:game:orders]] or [[anacreon:game:designation|redesignated]].
===== Defection =====
If a [[anacreon:game:designation#sector_capital|sector capital]] is conquered or [[anacreon:game:secession|secedes]], multiple planets within 250 [[anacreon:lexicon#LY]] will instantly defect, joining the conquering empire without having to be invaded. It does not seem to be easy to predict which planets will defect. All [[anacreon:game:units]] of the attacked empire that are in [[anacreon:game:movement|fleets]] at, or stationed on, a defecting world get transferred to the attacker. This can radically affect the balance of a war
===== Independence =====
If rebels win a planetary [[anacreon:game:civil_war|civil war]], the planet will declare independence from the empire. The world becomes an [[anacreon:game:empires#independent_planets|independent]] [[anacreon:game:designation#autonomous]] world.
