Shields

Stops your ship from going boom.

Level I

    • The basic entry in Earth Industries' series of popular shield generators.
    • NAMI's Cyclotron deflectors absorb a lot of damage, but take more time to regenerate.
    • Better than a class I at deflecting laser energy; worse at deflecting anything else.

Level II

    • While not powerful enough to protect against military-grade weapons, the class II deflector provides added defense for freelancers and independent merchantships.
    • This device ionizes a ship's hull, repelling kinetic and blast damage. The ionization field weakens as the ship's armor is damaged.

Level III

    • A quantum magnetic field strongly deflects damage from kinetic and blast weapons. It is less effective against laser and particle beam attacks.
    • Developed by the innovative Solon Industries, this shield generator absorbs almost all laser energy. A ship equipped with these shields cannot fire any laser weapons.
    • Stronger than a class III deflector using less than half the power.

Level IV

    • The class III deflector is an integrated system that protects a ship against most forms of damage.
    • The R1 deflector was developed a few decades ago to protect Fleet ships against the powerful lightning cannons of the Ares Orthodoxy.
    • This quasi-matter generator protects a starship against blast energy.
    • The most powerful shield generator in NAMI's Cyclotron series.

Level V

    • The shield generators sold by Kabuto Defense are among the most powerful and advanced. The Yoroi line of shields ranges from this inexpensive commercial model to more powerful military versions
    • Each model of the Nephren series is tuned for a different kind of damage. The P25 is designed to defend against particle and ion damage.
    • High manufacturing costs and poor sales doomed it in the market, but many prefer this vintage deflector over modern imitators.
    • This generator uses an array of superconducting coils. Individual coils must be replaced to restore the field after damage is taken.
